The full-service agency has been hired to create and implement marketing, public relations, and advertising campaigns to effectively address Virginia’s mounting foster care crisis.

“After recognizing our critical need, we decided our best strategy was to align with a firm that can provide the tools to help us communicate more effectively,” said Jamie Snead, Vice President of Advocacy. “We need strong messaging that will resonate with our team, the families we serve who love to tell others about their involvement with DePaul, and the community in general.”

B2C Enterprises works with the Cave Spring Volunteer Firefighters, Virginia’s Veterans Parade, and Help Save The Next Girl, along with other regional nonprofit organizations, to help them cultivate and share their message to better accomplish their mission.

“This is exactly the type of work we love to do,” said Bruce C. Bryan, Founder and President of B2C Enterprises. “DePaul Community Resources connects children who need homes with foster families who have a passion for caring for others and a willingness to step in – even in difficult circumstances. We believe this is the perfect place for marketing and advertising. It is our intent to provide solid communications resources to this amazing organization and the loving families they represent.”

“It’s going to be exciting,” Bryan said. “We are looking forward to celebrating the success as DePaul locates and on-boards these amazing families. It’s really the power of marketing put to such good use.”

Roanoke, VA - October 2017

The Virginia Association of Broadcasters (VAB) has again chosen Help Save the Next Girl (HSTNG) as their year-long non-profit advertising partner for 2018. The partnership means news and radio stations in the Commonwealth will continue to heavily rotate HSTNG’s messaging over the next year. HSTNG Board Members recently met with the VAB to thank them for their ongoing support of the “Buddy-Up” marketing campaign.

“They have taken the message to the people of the Commonwealth of Virginia,” said Gil Harrington the President of the Board of Directors and Founder of The Help Save The Next Girl Foundation. “We are grateful for the radio and television stations around Virginia and their support of our organization. Individually we can tell young people to look out for each other and be safe and with social media we can share the same message with thousands. But with the large megaphone these major media outlets hold, we can literally communicate with hundreds of thousands of people all across the state. It’s incredible.”

In addition to thanking the VAB Board, Harrington was able to introduce them to her new book, Morgan Harrington: Murdered and Dead for Good. The book shares a captivating journey and is a memoir of her daughter who was murdered after leaving a concert in Charlottesville in 2009. The book, along with the “Buddy-Up” ad campaign, communicates a life-saving message to teenaged girls and young women: look out for each other. With the help of the VAB, this message will be supported by more than 150 local radio and television stations throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.

“The media outlets we’ve approached have never told Gil ‘no’,” said Bruce C. Bryan, President of B2C Enterprises and a HSTNG founding board member. “Part of the reason is because she and her husband Dan are simply doing good work, but it goes beyond that. Gil is determined in her quest to protect young women from violence, and her message resonates strongly with the VAB Board of Directors. The Virginia Association of Broadcasters has been incredibly generous in their support of the Help Save The Next Girl Foundation. This opportunity to express our appreciation in person to the leadership made for a really gratifying and special day."

The Help Save the Next Girl Foundation is national non-profit organization formed in honor of Morgan Harrington and strives to sensitize young women and girls to predatory danger. Local Volunteer Fire Department Sees Success with Marketing Agency's Custom Recruitment Initiative

Roanoke, VA - September 2016

B2C Enterprises successfully built and executed a recruitment initiative for the Cave Spring Volunteer Fire Department (CSVFD). The three-month push, which included a media blitz, public events, and video production, resulted in fifteen new volunteers joining the department.

"We've tried other things, but to marginal success," said CSVFD Chief John Chambliss. "So this time, we decided to spend a little money...like what businesses would do."

For several years, the CSVFD struggled to meet bare-minimum volunteer numbers to function as a sanctioned fire station. With training sessions scheduled to begin in late September, the department enlisted B2C Enterprises to create a strategic marketing and communications plan.

Working within the CSVFD budget, the team at B2C Enterprises implemented a plan with a set call-to-action encouraging the recruits to apply by August 1. The tactic created a sense of urgency and the deadline ensured new recruits would be ready in time for training this fall.

B2C Enterprises got the community's attention by using media relations, advertising, social media, and public events supported by print elements and signage. As a result, both the media and potential volunteers had direct access to the CSVFD fire fighters. B2C Enterprises also wrote, directed, and produced a thirty second video for use digitally on television and in social media. It was titled "Cave Spring Fire Department: The Call". It can be viewed here.

"The agency has two family members who are firefighters," said Bruce C. Bryan, Founder and President of B2C Enterprises, "so the meaning behind this campaign really hit home for us. I'm really proud of the way we executed the project and we love knowing it will have a positive impact on the Cave Spring community."

The CSVFD's newest volunteers are now going through credentialing processes and are expected to enter training later this month. Those who successfully complete all of the required courses will be will be volunteering in Cave Spring by early next year.

Marketing and Advertising Agency Launches Unconventional Television Ad Campaign

Roanoke, VA - July 2016

B2C Enterprises is taking their own strategic business advice by launching a new television ad campaign promoting their marketing and advertising services. The campaign is a series of four 15-second commercials highlighting B2C's abilities in advertising, media buying, and public relations.

It's a rare move. Most agencies don't market their own services because of time, money, or a fear of being judged by their peers. B2C's founder and president decided it was an important step forward for the firm.

"We're fully aware of how ironic it is for us to write, produce, and buy commercials for ourselves," said Bruce C. Bryan, "but it actually makes a lot of sense. The campaign has our stamp on it and it's proof we enjoy thinking and working in an unconventional way. That's what gives our clients an advantage."

B2C treated the campaign as they would any other client project keeping both branding and business development in mind. In the end, the traditional roles of the client and advertising agency are reversed. Instead of B2C reaching out for client leads, the commercials put the agency in front of potential clients first. From graphic design to film-making, the commercials incorporate all of the agency's talents.

"This was a great opportunity to stretch ourselves creatively and be able to show off some of B2C's personality - quite literally since the staff play themselves in the videos," said Aaron Kelderhouse, Creative Director at B2C Enterprises. "It's something we do for all of our clients and it was fun to have the chance to do it for ourselves."

The commercials are running on local television in the greater Roanoke area. You can also view them online by visiting vimeo.com/b2centerprises.

Local American Veteran Wins Free Bathtub to Shower Conversion

Re-Bath of Chattanooga Proud to Assist Those with Mobility Issues

Chattanooga, TN - July 1, 2016

Re-Bath and 5 Day Kitchens of Chattanooga and North Georgia announces that Specialist Beth A. Lynch, US Army (Ret.), is the winner of the 2016 Veteran’s Bathtub to Shower Conversion Giveaway. SPC Lynch will receive a bathtub to shower conversion at no cost from the craftsmen at Re-Bath of Chattanooga. The prize is valued at $7,000.

Beth A. Lynch, a three-year veteran of our country’s military, was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, a part of 108th Air Defense Artillery Brigade. SPC Lynch was preparing for deployment with her unit when she suffered severe injuries during a jump accident. The incident led to her medical retirement in 2009. She continues to undergo periodic surgery to correct the injury to her spine and nerves.

Nelson Wong, President of Re-Bath and 5 Day Kitchens of Chattanooga and North Georgia, says, “Beth has been through a lot due to injuries she received in service to our country. We are proud to help her increase her standard of living at home.” Mr. Wong expects the renovations will begin within a few weeks. To improve her mobility in her own bathroom, professional craftsmen will remove Ms. Lynch’s current high wall bathtub and replace it with a high quality and durable low threshold walk in shower.

“We’ve seen how difficult it is for some people to bathe themselves independently, and it’s important to us that someone who was hurt while serving America doesn’t have to struggle with simply stepping into the shower,” says Dustin Wong, Vice President of Sales. “We don’t want anyone living that way.”

Also entered into the contest were Mr. John Diliberto, USAF (Ret.) and Ms. Terri Lynne Wilson-Newton. To show their appreciation for their service, Re-Bath of Chattanooga will be offering these veterans a discount of $750 on any bathtub to shower conversion or bathroom accessibility renovations in the next year.

Advertisers Win In Winter Storm

Roanoke, VA - February 2016.

Ratings just released by Rentrak prove that strategically placed television advertisements can help businesses reach new audiences, especially during a severe weather event.

On Thursday, January 21, 2016, meteorologists were predicting 14 to 22 inches of snow with some areas possibly receiving 30 inches.

The prediction prompted the closing of schools and businesses, and had people scrambling to their televisions for the latest forecast, current road conditions, and other important community information.

To understand how the snowstorm affected ratings, B2C Enterprises collected data using Rentrak StationView Essentials® for Thursday, January 21, and Friday, January 22, and compared that data with numbers from the prior Thursday and Friday, January 14 and 15. Using the Adults 21+ demographic, they averaged station ratings for both sets of days then calculated the percent change for three categories: Daily (including primetime), News, and 6a-8p. The following tables illustrate the ratings.

Rentrak-ratings2

WDBJ7 maintained its strong ratings across all dayparts and specifically in news programming. WDBJ7 News at Noon shows a 55% bump in ratings, up to 18.79 from 12.15 for the previous week. However, WSLS 10 showed the largest percent change in viewership for the entire two-day period, with a massive increase of 55%. The biggest ratings changes on WSLS were in WSLS News at Noon, which jumped from 2.01 to 5.31 (139%), and in Daytime Blue Ridge, which went from 2.01 to 5.31 (165%). Also worth noting is the increase in numbers for WSLS's 7pm News: an increase from 5.21 to 10.19, a gain of 96%.

Though not quite as high as WSLS, WSET also produced a strong ratings jump that beat out WDBJ7 in percent changes across all three categories. Specific programs that had large increases include ABC News 13 Midday, whose rating jumped from 3.37 to 6.50 (93%) and ABC News 13 at 5p, which went from 4.58 to 7.35 (60%). WSET's highest rated local newscast, ABC News at 6p only showed a 32% increase (7.33 to 9.71). While not highly rated as a station, WFXR's news programming did attract many more viewers than the previous week. WFXR News/Good Day Virginia rose from 1.24 to 2.16 (73%) and WFXR News First at 10p grabbing a 90% increase, from 4.0 to 7.59. WFXR's decrease in afternoon programming ratings hinted that viewers were looking for weather updates on other channels.

With Rentrak/comScore®, viewing and consumer behavior is precisely tracked and analyzed in real time. This gives agencies like B2C Enterprises the capability to evaluate changes in ratings on a day-by-day basis with only a short lag time. In turn, advertisers' media strategies can be adjusted based on actual viewing habits.

Though all the stations had significantly increased viewership on January 21-22 compared to January 14-15, the real winners were the advertisers. They saw their advertising budget go even farther and garnered the attention of consumers who may not have otherwise been glued to their televisions.

B2C Enterprises Supports The Spot on Kirk

Roanoke, VA - January 2016

B2C Enterprises is helping to launch a new music venue near their office on Kirk Avenue. The Spot on Kirk is opening its doors this spring. Greater Roanoke music fans are familiar with the site, as it was formerly home to Kirk Avenue Music Hall.

While B2C Enterprises functions as a marketing and advertising agency, many of their ventures have been geared toward enriching the City of Roanoke. B2C has done work for non-profits like Help Save The Next Girl, Habitat for Humanity, and Down by Downtown.

B2C’s owner and the president of Down by Downtown, Bruce C. Bryan, saw the empty space at 22 Kirk Avenue as an opportunity to bring a liveliness back to the area.

“There’s been a gap in our city,” said Bryan. “The old music hall was a magical place and, after it closed, I frequently heard how much people missed it.”

In addition to running the communications aspects of the venue, B2C Enterprises will help with the marketing and promotion of events booked at The Spot on Kirk. Live music won’t be the only headliner. Organizers hope to see everything from poetry readings to lectures and documentary showings to receptions booked at The Spot on Kirk.

“We want to recreate the best of what once existed in that space,” said Bryan. “We believe the venue will be sustainable and the impact on the surrounding area will be positive.”

The Spot on Kirk is now booking live musical acts for the spring. For more information about the venue, visit www.theSpotonKirk.org or find us on Facebook and Twitter.

5th Annual Down By Downtown To Host First Show in Newly Renovated Elmwood Park

DxDT-header

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Organizers Promise Full Festival Experience with Additional Venues Expanded Musical Line-Up

February 18, 2014 - Organizers of the 5th Annual Down by Downtown (DXDT) Festival and the Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon, in conjunction with the Jefferson Center, held a press conference in Elmwood Park today announcing the expansion of the music and cultural event to be held in downtown Roanoke, Virginia Thursday, April 24th through Saturday, April 26th, 2014.

G.-Love--Special-Sauce

The diverse musical offering spanning over 40 performances at nearly 20 venues throughout the city will be highlighted by a full day of outdoor music on Saturday, April 26th in conjunction with the running of the Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon, Half Marathon and the first ever Anthem StarK - 10k race. Sponsored by Member One Federal Credit Union and Foot Levelers, the DXDT main stage will be the first major event held at the amphitheater in the newly renovated Elmwood Park and will be headlined by nationally acclaimed and wildly popular G. Love & Special Sauce of Philadelphia.

"There are so many exciting new things about this year's festival from a deepened relationship with the Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon to the partnership with Jefferson Center who will serve as our official ticketing agent - ensuring a streamlined and organized experience for festival-goers," said organizer Bruce C. Bryan of B2C Enterprises. "We have nearly doubled the number of participating venues which speaks to Roanoke's growing role as a vibrant musical hub in the region," he continued.

Music enthusiasts are sure to be thrilled by the smooth Garrett "G. Love" Dutton, one of the nation's funkiest performers of laid back, alternative hip-hop blues -- a genre he helped define. G. Love, who has recently toured with Jack Johnson and The Dave Matthews Band, explains his sounds as, "a nod back and a step forward" where he returns to the roots of blues and folk while venturing into the contemporary world of hip-hop.

"There is something special about DXDT hosting the first show in the new Elmwood Park amphitheater," said City Manager, Chris Morrill. "It brings the Creative Connectors initiative full-circle and serves as successful example of how cities and regions can benefit by thoughtful public/private partnerships," he continued.

DXDT grew from the 2009 CityWorks/Roanoke City sponsored Creative Connector's initiative based on Richard Florida's book on The Creative Class - and has become a large collaboration of music venues, community leaders and downtown businesses. While the organizing board is still comprised of several members of the original Creative Connector class, the group has grown to include a wide range of community voices and newcomers to the area including Bruce C. Bryan of B2C Enterprises; Jason Martin of Martin's Downtown; Dylan Locke of Jefferson Center; Betsy Whitney of the Carilion Foundation; Robert Johnson of First and Sixth Restaurant; Shannon Naff of WSLS TV; Cory Campbell of Kirk Avenue Music Hall; Andrea Milliron of Member One Federal Credit Union; Bruce Houghton of Skyline Music; Dave and Ann Trinkle of the Fork Restaurants; Larry Landolt of Roanoke Food Tours; Rob Ruthenberg of WVMP radio, and other venue representatives.

The Blue Ridge Marathon was created by the Roanoke Regional Partnership to showcase the region's commitment to making outdoor recreation and environmental stewardship a core component of the Roanoke Region lifestyle. Originally boasted as "America's Toughest Road Marathon" it has more than lived up to the reputation. Not for the faint of heart, the Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon features the most challenging and breathtaking course of any road marathon in the country and was recently named to The Weather Channel's "World's 15 Toughest Marathons" list (#8). Beginning in downtown Roanoke, Virginia and ascending four miles along the Blue Ridge Parkway to the summit of Roanoke Mountain this race will put you in the zone...and all before mile 10!

DXDT Festval tickets go on sale March 4, 2014 at 10am through the Jefferson Center box office and online at www.JeffCenter.org. General admission is $20 plus fees and special discounted rates will be available to marathon participants through their race registration process. Participating venues include Kirk Avenue Music Hall, Jefferson Center, Martin's Downtown, Corned Beef & Co., Awful Arthurs, Blues BBQ, Fork in the City, Fork in the Market, Blue 5, Billy's, The Quarter, Flannary's, Cornerstone, 202 Market, Penny Deux Lounge, The Pine Room at Hotel Roanoke, METRO! and 16 West Marketplace. B2C Enterprises' Bruce Bryan Appointed Chairman of Kirk Family YMCA Annual Support Campaign

Roanoke, VA - January 2014. The Kirk Family YMCA has appointed Bruce C. Bryan, President of B2C Enterprises, chairman of their upcoming Annual Support Campaign. The Annual Support Campaign raises funds to provide financial assistance to families and children who cannot afford the YMCA's services. The campaign kicks off on February 17th and runs through April 17th.

"This year we have an aggressive goal to raise money for the Annual Support Campaign at The Kirk Family YMCA," said Board President Adam Boitnott, Vice President of Strategy and Operations with NetVentures Corporation. "When leadership discussed this campaign, we knew we needed a positive, energetic, and proven leader to guarantee our success. Bruce Bryan was the leader we needed to ensure that we maximize the Y's impact to our community."

All of the money raised during the campaign goes towards the YMCA's financial assistance program, Everyone Deserves a Y. This program grants the money collect to deserving children, families and individuals in our community.

"The YMCA of the Roanoke Valley is committed to providing quality youth and adult programs and facilities to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay," said Nancy Brattain, Branch Executive Director of the Kirk Family YMCA.

The Kirk Family YMCA aims to improve the community's health and well-being through activities that bring families closer together and programs that empower young people to find success.

"At B2C, we work to give back to our community," said Bryan. B2C Enterprises Wins TAP Small Business of the Year Award

Roanoke, VA - December 2013. Total Action for Progress (TAP) selected B2C Enterprises for their annual Small Business of the Year award. Recipients are chosen from those businesses that received assistance from TAP's Business Seed Capital, Incorporated Program and grew to a successful socially responsible business. The nominating committee determines the success of a business as one that not only grows but also holds the standard of being a competent and dignified steward in the community.

"B2C Enterprises was selected not only because of their growth but also because of their positive contribution and commitment to the Roanoke Valley," said Curtis Thompson, Vice President of Financial Services at TAP. "We are excited to celebrate B2C Enterprises as a socially responsible success story."

TAP's Business Seed Capital, Incorporated Program offers support for small business entrepreneurs through educational classes, counseling and financial assistance in Roanoke City, Roanoke County, Vinton, Salem, Botetourt County, Craig County, Covington, Clifton Forge, and Bath County.

"We are honored to be recognized by TAP," said Bruce C. Bryan, President of B2C Enterprises. "We are merely doing what any small business would do to grow. We strive to take care of our clients by showing them that the success of their business is just as important as the success of our own."

B2C Enterprises Launches New Interactive Web Sites for Three Clients

Roanoke, VA - November 2013. B2C Enterprises recently launched several new web sites bringing clients to the forefront of online communication technology. The new sites for www.collectivelabor.com, www.corvesta.com, and www.boxleyhardscapes.com deliver an informative, interactive, and creative online experience for visitors.

"Web site solutions are one of the fastest growing sectors of our business," said Bruce C. Bryan, President of B2C Enterprises. "As companies realize their web sites are an important entry point, we are seeing an increased number of clients ready to take their interactive presence to the next level."

The three newest web sites designed by B2C Enterprises show the range of work they offer. Working with a startup technology company based in Des Moines, Iowa, the www.collectivelabor.com project demonstrates how an effective web site can capture a company's brand to help them reach specified goals. All of the branding and design work was done in collaboration through the internet. During the www.corvesta.com project, B2C Enterprises worked with one of the largest companies in Southwest Virginia - incorporating the multi-level intricacies that come from working with several subsidiaries on one branded web site. The www.boxleyhardscapes.com project is an example of a consumer driven site. The engaging work uses social media, design tips and compelling photography to help customers learn about products and services available and motivate them to engage the client.

"To successfully work with a diverse range of clients, we had to take time to understand their individual company goals and design a customized web site to meet their distinct needs," said Bryan.

Saving the next girl

Original story from James Madison University.

Creating the public service announcement was uplifting. And having it recognized with a national award was gratifying. But for Bruce C. Bryan (’87) and Brett Winter Lemon (’06), what mattered most was the cause.

The PSA for Help Save The Next Girl, a not-for-profit organization focused on promoting personal safety, recently won a 2013 Silver Telly Award, and has launched a massive public awareness campaign about crimes against young women. Bryan, Lemon and a dedicated team of creative professionals in Roanoke have worked on media for the organization for two years, attempting to create a message of empowerment out of a brutal crime that rocked their community.

A crime, and a cause

Morgan Harrington’s story has been widely chronicled. On Oct. 17, 2009 the 20-year-old Virginia Tech student attended a Metallica concert in Charlottesville. She was abducted and murdered, her body found 101 days later in a remote pasture six miles from the concert venue. The case remains unsolved.

Nineteen months after her abduction, Harrington received a posthumous degree from Virginia Tech. Bryan, an advertising professional, and his public relations partner Stephanie Koehler — who assisted the Harringtons after Morgan’s abduction — attended this small ceremony.

“I remember sitting there and thinking, ‘There are people who may know something who aren’t news viewers,’” Bryan said. “The idea came to use advertising to get the word out, in hopes of solving the murder, and to help save the next girl.”

That phrase was one Gil and Dan Harrington had used often since their daughter’s abduction. Amidst their grief, they founded Help Save The Next Girl, hoping to raise the level of dialogue about crimes against women.

“The terminology [can be] so passive: Missing, what does that even mean?” Gil Harrington said. “My reading glasses are missing because I wasn’t paying attention. [But] none of us left our daughters; they were abducted, they were stolen.

“They were robbed from us.”

Bryan had an idea to build attention-getting ads around Gil Harrington’s stark message. The former TV sales manager approached local media and proposed they run PSAs on their unused ad space. Not a single outlet turned him down.

“Everyone knew the story,” Bryan said. “Everyone wanted to help.”

Web advertising spread throughout the state, in Richmond, Charlottesville, Roanoke, Harrisonburg and Lynchburg. Bryan and Koehler pieced together a creative team to produce rich media. They brought in creative director Chris Henson and post-production specialist Kirk Wray. They reached out to Jane Vance (Morgan’s former art professor) and Laura Schneider, president of the Virginia Tech chapter of Help Save The Next Girl. And they enlisted Lemon, a SMAD graduate who grew up next door to the Harringtons, to serve as director of photography.

“We wanted the footage to speak for itself, to be strong and emotional,” Lemon said of the video. “We all wanted it to revolve around young girls, and the idea that they had to look out for each other.”

Raising awareness

Bryan estimates the campaign has around 2 million Web impressions in a little more than a year, a testament, he says, to professionals doing what they do best to help the community. That idea is something he and Lemon both say they experienced as Madison students.

“My involvement and experience [at JMU] made this a natural thing,” Bryan said.

There are still abductions. This is an uphill fight, to remove the variables of violence against women before they conspire to occur, to prevent everything that can go wrong from going wrong. But it also is a fight of solidarity. The final frame of the PSA shows 13 young women, ranging in age from sixth grade to college student, standing atop a small ridge, hands clasped, their outlines backlit by the evening sun.

“Everything unfolded perfectly; right people, right day, the weather was amazing, the light was perfect,” Lemon said. “It doesn’t ever happen that way. This was a case where something magical was happening.”

The group hopes that magic has a lasting effect. After all, that’s the point of Help Save The Next Girl — that because of the work of Dan and Gil Harrington, Stephanie Koehler and Jane Vance, Chris Henson, Laura Schneider and Kirk Wray, and JMU alumni Bruce Bryan and Brett Lemon, girls and young women in danger of abduction can prevent it from happening; that they avoid the danger; that they are aware, protected.

Safe.

Local Creative Collaboration Team Wins National Recognition at the 34th Annual Telly Awards

B2C Enterprises’ work with Member One Federal Credit Union, Help Save the Next Girl Foundation, Motion Adrenaline, Brett Winter Lemon Photography and SAKinterMedia earn several awards for locally produced video production campaigns.

Roanoke, VA – June 2013. The creative efforts of Member One Federal Credit Union, Motion Adrenaline and B2C Enterprises won two Bronze Awards for the “Loan Reason #__” campaign – for use of animation and overall campaign. SAKinterMedia and B2C Enterprises – along with Motion Adrenaline and Brett Winter Lemon Photography - won a Silver Award for the “Help Save the Next Girl” campaign during the 2013 Telly Awards.

“The Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in film and video,” said Linda Day, Executive Director of the Telly Awards. “The accomplishments of Member One, Motion Adrenaline, Brett Winter Lemon Photography, SAKinterMedia and B2C Enterprises, illustrate a collaborative creativity, skill, and dedication to their craft and serves as a testament to great film and video production.”

Founded in 1979, The Telly Awards are the premier accolade honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films. With nearly 11,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, this is significant recognition for the Roanoke Valley advertising community. B2C’s three Telly Awards were the only ones distributed in Southwestern Virginia.

Help Save The Next Girl PSA Campaign Earns International Recognition for Area AgenciesSAKinterMedia and B2C Enterprises Win International Academy of Visual Arts - W3 Award

Roanoke, VA (January 2013) - The locally produced Help Save The Next Girl video PSA (HelpSaveTheNextGirl.com), created by SAKinterMedia and B2C Enterprises of Roanoke, VA gained international recognition last month when it received a 2012 W3 Silver Award from the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA). The W3 Awards honor creative excellence on the web, and recognizes the creative and marketing professionals behind award winning sites, marketing programs, and video work created for the web. In its seventh year, the W3 Awards received over 3,000 entries from ad agencies, public relations firms, Interactive agencies, web & graphic designers worldwide.

"We are honored to once again recognize creative excellence and are humbled to witness all the amazing work being done throughout the industry," said Linda Day, Executive Director of the IAVA. "From everyone at the Academy, we congratulate our 2012 W3 Award entrants and winners for their contributions and commitment to the online world in which we live."

The Help Save The Next Girl public service campaign was started in support of Dan and Gil Harrington’s efforts to empower young women and raise community awareness in the wake of their daughter’s murder. Morgan Dana Harrington was a 20-year-old Virginia Tech student from Roanoke, Virginia who was
abducted on October 17, 2009 after leaving a concert at John Paul Jones Arena on the University of Virginia campus. Her remains were found in January 2010 on a farm about eight miles away. No arrest has been made in connection with her murder.

“The Help Save The Next Girl message is so compelling and the campaign was brought to life in the wake of such a tragic community event,” said Stephanie Koehler, President of SAKinterMedia. “Each person who worked on the project and everyone appeared in the PSA had an emotional connection to the case and it was apparent in the final product.”

The Help Save The Next Girl public service campaign was the only entrant from western Virginia to be recognized in the international competition. Only a dozen interactive and advertising firms in all of Virginia received a W3 Award.

“It was a team effort on the part of a talented group of professionals including Motion Adrenaline and Brett Winter Lemon Photography,” said Bruce C. Bryan, President of B2C Enterprises. “From the initial creative meeting to the final edit, we knew we had a special group of people making this project come to life.”
